If this is of interest, I will create a separate tutorial on creating a dashboard to show KPIs and other metrics to gauge the success of the event. Check out my tutorial on creating a Gantt chart in Excel found here. As an example, you can include an Excel timeline of the various phases and tasks related to the event and include a dashboard. There are countless ways to modify the template or process. Now that you know how to create a OneNote template, feel free to customize it so that it meets the needs of your organization. The Task will reside in your Outlook tasks and will automatically have a hyperlink back to the OneNote Conference template. If you right click on the red flag and select Open Task in Outlook, you can further customize the task by adding a subject, start date, end date, status, category and/or assign it to a team member. You can now add text next to the flag for more details. This will add a small red flag where the cursor was. To do this simply click on Home in the ribbon then click on Outlook Tasks>Custom In my template, I added Outlook Tasks directly into the text by placing my cursor where I want the task. Add a title and further customize the template by adding tags such as To-Do’s. Your template will appear, ready for the next conference. To test out the template, create a new page in the section. To do this, click on Insert in the ribbon and click on the drop down menu for Page TemplatesĬlick on Save current page as a template, then name your template and check the box that will set as default template for new pages in the current section Once you have completed an outline, you will want to save the template.
